Welcome to the Women’s Shooting Connection!

We are a non-profit educational and social club. We meet on the 2^nd Sunday of the month and would LOVE to have you come see what we’re all about! We love to get together to shoot, and always support each other in our quest to become proficient in the use of firearms. We also participate in local events and have a charity drive every year. Mostly, we’re friends and love meeting for lunch and to shoot!

Getting Started

There are many reasons for owning a gun and learning to shoot, and women are exploring all of them. There are some basic reasons, though, as the poll done by Women’s Outdoor News found out. The most common are:

1. Personal protection for themselves and their families
2. Camaraderie with others
3. Our 2^nd Amendment right

Along with these, competitive shooting and hunting were also listed as favorites.

Whatever your reason, you may find a need to overcome feelings and attitudes in both yourself and others. For example, you may find yourself afraid of that piece of metal—I know I was (and surprised to find it in myself; I hadn't realized before). You may find your family or friends worried or upset about your new interest. Mainstream media and certain political philosophies are vehemently opposed to firearms.

Don’t let any of that intimidate you out of learning to shoot. There are more woman-oriented opportunities out there than ever before.

WSC is here to help. We intend to provide a centralized location for information related to women’s shooting opportunities, training, and venues within the state of New Mexico.
