Community Outreach
In addition to our primary purpose, we have 2 main outreach projects.
Since we were no longer able to keep up with the amount of litter on the section of Old Highway 66 we had adopted, we are currently investigating alternatives for our main project.
Second is our charitable donations. At Christmas, we collect for one or more selected organizations that help local women. Some of the organizations to which we have donated in the past include the Women’s Veterans of New Mexico, which supports homeless veteran women, and Bethel Community Storehouse in Moriarty for those in the East Mountains who find themselves in need. We accept items based on the needs of the organization(s) we have selected.
We always welcome and appreciate anyone who would like to join us in these endeavors!

History of the Women's Shooting Connection
Jeanne
A few of us ladies had been shooting at MAGS Indoor Shooting Range in Moriarty on Wednesday mornings. One Wednesday in the fall of 2014 we had all finished shooting for the day and we gathered in the MAGS Member’s Lounge and began talking about how we enjoyed shooting so much and “too bad more women didn’t have the opportunity we had.” We wanted women’s shooting to become “more” than shooting on Wednesday mornings. The more we talked and brainstormed, the bigger and more grandiose our imaginations became! Then we talked to other women who were not shooting that day about our conversation. They liked the idea too. So, we decided, “let’s do it!”
Our organization “to be” would never have been possible if it weren’t for MAGS Indoor Shooting Range, a beautiful top-notch facility in Moriarty, New Mexico. The Range opened in July 2013. Most of us took beginning women’s shooting classes from NRA instructor Jodi while she worked there. Some of us didn’t know “beans” about a gun, other than that guns were very intimidating and darn scary!
Our first meeting was held on December 13, 2014, called to order at 1:20. The organization’s birth and a new page of history of women’s shooting in New Mexico began!
